I just realized that Tai Lee spent her whole life trying to differentiate herself, to fee like an individual rather than one of a matched set, literally joining the circus to escape. But by the end of the story she chooses to wear a uniform and matching makeup because she found people who appreciated her for who she was and she gained the beautiful confidence in herself and her individuality that she always deserved.

also critical is that its a unifom you can take off, the makeup isnt on every day you put it on by choice
